so i am not far along into prometheus rising and within the first chapter there is an exercise and the overview is this. visualize a quarter, imagine (vividly) that you are going to find said quarter on the street. then look for the quarter every time you take a walk, meanwhile continuing to visualize. so this first part is "selective attention" AKA you are believing that there are hoards of quarters lost everywhere, meaning you are bound to stumble across one. part II. the alternative " ' mystical hypothesis' " that is mind controls everything. meaning that you are believing that you yourself made the quarter manifest itself in this universe. go look for a second quarter. compare the time it takes to find the second quarter versus the time it took to find the first one. the experiment goes forward but i just found my first quarter today.
